Workhop Organizer:
Bernd Blobel PhD, Associate Professor, Institute for Biometry and Medical Informatics, Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg
Abstract
The EFMI-supported ICMCC workshop focuses on security requirements and solutions for Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. In that context, especially application security services but also communication security services need to be dealt with.
Among others, the topics to be addressed are include:
- EHR requirements,
- Advanced architectures for distributed, interoperable, flexible, scalable, portable EHR systems,
- Model Driven EHR Architecture (MDA),
- EHR security requirements,
- EHR on Cards,
- Security modelling,
- Security infrastructure for existing and advanced EHR systems, and
- Practical implementations.
The workshop refers to all relevant standards and PAS (ISO, CEN, HL7, ETSI,…) as well as to specifications provided within regional and national programmes and projects.
Shared care requires trustworthy communication and co-operation between all parties directly or indirectly involved in patient’s care including the subject of care itself. New architectural paradigms request advanced security specifications and solutions. Meeting advanced architectural methodologies, security requirements and solutions must be modelled formally.
The workshop involves experts, and addresses participants, interested in the fields of Electronic Health Records (EHR), security, and cards. It will be open to everybody. Organised as a European Federation of Medical Informatics (EFMI) Joint Working Group Event, the members of the EFMI Working Group “Electronic Health Records” arrange and shape the workshop, assisted by several security experts presenting the EFMI WG “Security” work, and a card expert representing the EFMI WG “Cards”.
